                           First WP7 Phone – Allegro

Acer has quietly announced a new Windows Phone 7.5 Mango running handset, the Allegro. The Allegro is the first ever Windows Phone handset from the company.

This mid-range handset is powered by a 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8255T single-core processor, and packs 512MB of RAM along with 8GB of internal memory. The front of the handset is dominated by the 3.6-inch LCD with WVGA (480×800) resolution. At the back of the Allegro is a 5MP snapper aided by an LED flash. The phone lacks a front-facing camera though.
All the usual connectivity features like Wi-Fi b/g/n, GPS with A-GPS and HSPA are also on-board. Sensors like Accelerometer, Gyroscope and Ambient Light sensor etc. are also present. The handset will be powered by a measly 1300mAh battery.
The Allegro will hit the shelves in France in mid-November, and will be priced at around €299. The handset will be available in black and white colors. At its current price point, the Allegro is a direct competitor to Nokia’s recently announced Lumia 710. The Lumia is slightly costlier than the Allegro, but offers a bigger screen, faster processor and comes with a microSD card slot as well.
Hopefully, unlike their Android handsets, Acer will meet with some success with their WP7 phones.

NOKIA N9 REVIEW | NOKIA LATEST PRODUCT | NOKIA LATEST LAUNCH | NOKIA N9 IN MARKET | NOKIA N9 | LATEST UPDATE OF N9 | LATEST COLOR OF N9

Today, Nokia has announced that the Nokia N9 – probably the last MeeGo handset produced by the company – will soon be available in a new color, white. Considering how complex the manufacturing process of white products is, the company decided to take time and release the best possible quality for its consumers.

The white N9 will sport a glossy finish (Hello fingerprints!), instead of the matte finish its other color variants have. The white colored N9 will hit the retail stores sometime in Q4 of 2011, with 64GB of on-board memory.
The company also announced that it will be soon rolling out a new software update for the handset. The new software update will bring new usability enhancements like music controls on the lock screen, and the ability to close apps by swiping them down. The software update will also add NFC tag reading ability to the handset.
The Nokia N9 recently hit the retail stores in selected regions of the world, and has been getting positive reviews by everyone on the Internet. This has made many people to doubt Nokia’s decision of killing MeeGo and adopting WP7 instead.

AAKASH ANDROID TABLET | LATEST REVIEW OF AAKASH ANDROID TABLET | AAKASH LATEST UPDATE | AAKASH ANDROID TABLET OF INDIA | $35 ANDROID TABLET | CHEAP ANDROID TABLET | 1100 COST ANDROID

While everyone was in a tizzy about Amazon's $199 Kindle Fire price point, the Indian government was busily working to help bring out the $35 Aakash Android tablet. The tablet was developed with similarly good intentions as OLPC's XO laptop before it -- an attempt to get low-cost computing devices into the hands of students. One of the tablets landed in the VentureBeat offices this week. The site spent some hands-on time with the Froyo slate, and mostly liked what it saw, noting that seeming compromises made for price and a speedy release date ultimately benefit the whole of the device. The tablet will start hitting India next month, at the $35 government-subsidized pricepoint (actual retail price is a still mega-cheap $60).
