HTC Vigor Android-powered Smartphone

Yesterday it was rumored that Samsung is preparing a tablet with a screen resolution of 1280 x 768 and today we are talking about a device with a similar screen resolution, this time coming from HTC.
If the mysterious Samsung device was looking more like a tablet, well HTC Vigor is certainly a smartphone. And not just any smartphone, but one with a fabulous HD display.
We can’t know for sure if HTC Vigor will be the first smartphone in the world to feature a 4.3-inch display with 720p resolution, as Motorola is rumored to be working hard on such a device, too.
What we know for sure is that Vigor’s codename is ADR6425 and that a picture taken with HTC smartphone’s 6MP camera have hit the web at the end of the month.
In addition, this handset have surfaced (well, only it’s name) in the data base of NenaMark benchmark test. Rumor has it that Vigor will be using an 1.5GHz processor, helped by an Adreno 220 GPU and will be running on Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread.
As HTC Vigor will join the smartphones line-up of Verizon, having LTE connectivity support will not surprise us.
Even so, the attraction point of the device will be the extraordinary 720p HD display, with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. Of course, Vigor might be a tablet as well, but the chances are very low for HTC to launch such a device.
To be honest I’m looking forward of getting my hands on a device featuring an HD display, as at the moment the best display you can get attached to a smartphone is Samsung’s Super AMOLED Plus.
And that’s not all; just take a look and see how awesome the Super AMOLED Plus display is, then just try to imagine what Samsung would bring to the market in an attempt to launch their first phone with HD display. A god of the smartphones.

iPhone 4 Prototype | iphone 4 latest update

Since Mr Jobs decided not to show us the new iPhone 5 at WWDC 2011 in June, the rumors on weblogs exploded. One of the rumors say that Apple is preparing to launch two new iPhones, one being a low-end smartphone.
The guys at Appleinsider have posted the pictures of the prototype of a cheap iPhone 4 handset, which will be launched in the fall. Or at least that’s what they claim the pictures are.
The device was presented by a website in Vietnam, which claims that the new handset is the chip low-end iPhone everyone is talking about lately.
The device revealed by the Vietnamese is running on a test version of iOS, and the glass on the front and back of the device have been replaced with plastic, it features a multitasking expose system like the one offered by Backgrounder and looks exactly like an white iPhone 4.

Still the handset could be faster than iPhone 4. It seems that it’s also lighter, but this might be a consequence of the plastic casing. The price of the device will be a lot lower then the one of the current iPhone 4 and will most likely replace the iPhone 3GS smartphone.
So far it was rumored that iPhone 3GS will come at a price of only $350 starting the fall, but it seems that this new chip iPhone 4 to replace it. Anyway, we are curious to see what parts Apple removed form the device in order to be able to sell it at a lower price.
In my humble opinion the handset in the pictures (which looks exactly like an iPhone 4 but with a plastic case) is nothing but a black iPhone 4 modified using a conversion kit, every owner can use to transform their device into an white iPhone 4.
I don’t believe that Apple could spoil the fabulous design of iPhone 4 by replacing its case with some chip plastic one, but if they want to lower the price this is the best way to do it.
All we can learn so far is that Apple is thinking of changing the iPhone 4 in order to make it cheaper.

HTC Ignite And HTC Prime Windows Phone 7 Devices Spotted At Dutch Retailer’s Website

It’s not the first time these devices have been leaked on the web, however, it’s the first time they showed on relatively official ways. The HTC Ignite and HTC Prime are two Windows Phone 7 device of the next-generation WP7 lineup which should become available this fall.
The two smartphones have been leaked on the Phone House Dutch-based retailer which is well known among technology-related people as it likes to give us some insights before the companies do.
There’s only one problem with the HTC Ignite: previously it was believed that it’s an Android smartphone as it’s powered by a 800MHz Qualcomm CPU and we all know that Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7 requires a 1GHz processor. Things might have changed and frankly, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Ignite will run on a dual-core 800MHz CPU.
The second device called HTC Prime is a sliding smartphone with a full QWERTY keyboard and a 5MP camera on the back and it’s most likely the next-gen HTC 7 Pro aka Arrive in the US, while the Ignite is the heir of the popular Mozart, the second best selling WP7 device after the HTC HD7.
The release dates for these two smartphones are listed as “unknown,” but surprisingly enough we’ve seen mentions of the HTC Eternity, that monstrous device with a 4.7-inch touchscreen which might become the Windows Phone 7 handset of your dreams.
The HTC Prime, Ignite, and Eternity are expected to join the Windows Phone 7 Mango party started by the Fujitsu Toshiba IS21T and the Nokia Sea Ray along with other smartphones from Samsung, LG, Acer, Dell, and ZTE.
We have two more surprises for you from the Dutch retailer: the Apple iPhone 5 is listed as coming soon, practically confirming the September availability and the name of the device, and the BlackBerry Bold Touch 9900 release date is listed as October 1st, 2011, meaning that it might become available sooner in the US.

Teenager Killed Ex-Girlfriend After Facebook Friend Offered A Free Meal To Do It

A 16 years old teenager in Great Britain killed his ex-girlfriend after posting threatening messages on Facebook, and one of his friends said he would buy him breakfast if he does it.
Joshua Davies, aged 16, murdered his ex-girlfriend, Rebecca Aylward, in an isolated location, smashing her head with a rock of the size of a rugby ball, writes Daily Mail.

IPHONE 5 CAUGHT ON CAMERA | IPHONE 5 LATEST UPDATE | LATEST NEWS OF IPHONE 5 | LATEST UPDATE OF IPHONE 5

The closer we get to the release date of the new iPhone 5, the more rumors we hear and read about this device.
Only yesterday we told you about the design of iPhone 5 which was leaked by a Target ad. Anyway we can’t know for sure if that was a real iPhone 5 or just a mistake.
I say that we can’t know for sure mostly because some other rumors said that iPhone 5 will have the same design as iPhone 4, which seems plausible to me, looking back at iPhone 3G – iPhone 3GS similarities.
Anyway today we have some new leaked pictures of the coming iPhone 5 and its mysterious design.
The picture we are looking at was posted by 9to5mac, who claim that this is the first time we are looking at the real iPhone 5 smartphone.
It seems that the picture was taken by an American man who was apparently sitting next to an Apple employee who was testing the device you can see in the picture.
It looks like the man is holding an iPhone terminal, but the design is completely new, but the picture’s quality is too poor to make any suppositions.
The man who took the pictures kept it for himself until he first read about the design rumors and so-called cases of iPhone 5 and he claims that the smartphone he photographed is an iPhone.
To be honest, the device is not looking like any iPhone currently on the market, but more like a BlackBerry device. The problem is the Apple logo that can be spotted on the back case and specific iPhone buttons on the sides.
If the device we are looking at is not the new iPhone 5 then probably it’s just a regular iPhone in a special case or maybe a clone. Anyway we are 100% sure that this is not an Apple product currently on the market.
I personally find it hard to believe that we are really looking at the now iPhone 5, but anything is possible.

SAMSUNG GALAXY LATEST UPDATE | LATEST UPDATE OF SAMSUNG GALAXY | SAMASUNG GALAXY LATEST NEWS

Samsung has uploaded a demonstration video of the handset showing most of its features.

As most of us know by now, the Galaxy S II has been selling like hotcakes all over the world, though prominent markets such as the U.S are still waiting for the device's launch. The handset has managed to sell over 5 million units already which is a remarkable feat. However, since it is priced quite heftily, Samsung decided to launch a cheaper variant of the S2 in the form of the Galaxy R. The company had done something similar before when it launched theGalaxy SL, which was a cheaper alternative of the original Galaxy S.

We have now been treated to a video demo of the new Galaxy R displaying its features. The Galaxy R will feature a 4.2" Super Clear LCD display compared to the S2's Super AMOLED Plus display and a 1 GHz dual core chipset instead of the 1.2 GHz dual core Exynos chipset of the Galaxy S 2. Other specs include a 5 MP camera capable of recording 720p video, 8 GB of built in storage and Android 2.3 Gingerbread. The Social HubGames HubMusic Hub, and Reader Hubwill also be seen on the Galaxy R. It therefore seems like nothing much will change except the hardware of the handset.

The Galaxy R could certainly attract a few customers around the world considering the fact that its sibling the S2 is priced heftily. If Samsung wants to make an impression with this handset, there is no doubt that the handset has to be priced moderately. The Galaxy R almost comes in the range of the LG Optimus 2x with similar processing speeds. There is no word yet on the device's launch and availability worldwide, but Samsung wouldn't want to wait too long to launch the device since now is the right time to launch new handsets.

HTC LATEST PRODUCT | HTC PUCCINI

When HTC announced the 7-inch Flyer tablet in the beginning of the year, but some of their fans wanted more, thus the Taiwanese company decided to fit a bigger screen to one of their tablets. And that’s the story behind HTC Piccini tablet, featuring a 10-inch display, a tablet you can see in the gallery below.
It’s true, we all expected HTC engineers to come with a response and develop a tablet with a 10-inch display and running on Android 3.0.
What we don’t know for sure is if HTC Puccini will have the same name on all markets. The successor of HTC Flyer is not to different from the models it will compete with.
In the first pictures, the HTC Puccini tablet comes with the AT&T logo on, and we’ve seen before devices changing their name depending on the carrier.
The HTC tablet was first spotted in FCC’s database, the American agency that first tested then approved this model. Now we got the first pics of the 10-inch tablet, coming from Boy Genius Report. Puccini is just a codename at the moment, so the product might be launched under another name.
HTC Puccini features an 8MP camera with dual LED flash, stereo speakers, mic, and a 1.5GHz processor, most likely a single core one. It seems that the HTC newbie will suport stylus input, just like HTC Flyer and we expect an HTC Sense user interface customized for a Honeycomb experience.
The carrying pouch you can see in the pics also comes with a stylus. From my experience I can tell that using it will make the display less dirty.
As about HTC Puccini connectivity, the tablet may receive 4G LTE support. Anyway there’s no other information about this tablet. We don’t know when the release date is or price for the device, but we expect HTC Puccini to have a price tag comparable to the ones of its rivals.

ANDROID TABLET | LATEST UPDATE OF ANDROID TABLET

Android Tabs Will Race Past The iPad By 2016

A survey suggests that reasonably priced Android tablets could do the trick for Google.

Google's Android has been a major competitor in the smartphone industry, but it hasn't quite been that successful in terms of tablets. That being said, a new research conducted by Informa suggests that Android tablets could overtakeiPad sales by 2016, which is another 5 years from now.

Apple currently holds about 75%, but the research claims that company's dominance in the tablet market will see a huge fall and will end up at a mere 39%. The theory seems very well worked and we cannot disregard the possibility of this happening sooner than 2015. Apple doesn't have an array of tablets to brag about with the iPad 2 currently being the single and the flagship tablet of the company. We have always stressed on the fact that the head-start that the iPad maker got with the competitive tablet market has been very alarming for the likes of Google, and hence it became necessary to bring out the Honeycomb platform.

The Galaxy Tab, which initially came with Froyo, is the best selling Android tablet to date and that's mainly due to the fact that there weren't any (Android) competitors to the tablet at the time of the launch. However, today with Google's Honeycomb update, the Android scene has opened up considerably. That being said, even with the platform's arrival early this year, there haven't been many Android 3.x tablets.

David McQueen, who is an analyst, said, "From 2013, as cheaper and more advanced Android tablets enter the market, we forecast that sales will pick up considerably, eventually surpassing iPad sales in 2016". He further added, "We have seen a huge explosion in the tablet market in recent years, driven primarily by the iPad, and we estimate that the market will go from strength to strength, growing from under 20 million tablets sold in 2010, to over 230 million in 2015". Given Android's open source nature, it isn't quite hard to make these speculations. The slow roll out of iPads could benefit Honeycomb and ultimately Google.

CALL FROM GMAIL | CALLING ON GMAIL | HOW TO CALL BY GMAIL | HOW TO CALL FROM GMAIL WITHIN U.S

Google has now provided free service of phone calling from your gmail account. Now you can call to your beloved easily throughout the world.
Of course, email is a simple, quick way to check in with your man, but it’s just as easy — and maybe even more meaningful — to call him right from Gmail.

If you’re in the U.S., you can use Gmail to make free domestic calls and calls to Canada. If your dad lives abroad, we have some of the best rates around, like two cents per minute to Australia, Argentina, France and many other parts of the world. (Unfortunately, those of you outside the U.S. will still have to phone Dad the old-fashioned way.)
And in case you don’t read this post in time, we’ve added a small note in the Gmail chat roster, right under the “Call phone” link, to remind you to give him a ring.

Download iOS 4.3.5

There are many things that surprise us in the IT department these days and one just happened today. We just witnessed the release of iOS 4.3.5, a release that was a little unexpected in the iOS department. In fact we can tell you from the start that this is an incremental update that will patch a certificate verification issue. And if you are wondering about the jailbreak options, you are in luck because using the already existing version of Redsn0w the tablet can be unlocked with ease. Take notice we did this on an iPad 1st gen.
You need to know that the jailbreak however is tethered at the moment. And I think this doesn’t come for you as a surprise if you are already using other products from Apple like iPhone and iPod. When it comes to jailbreaking the iPad the method is very similar of that of breaking theiPhone. The 1st thing required to do is to download the latest iOS 4.3.5 and iOS 4.3. The last version is required by this Redsn0w soft. After this step is completed you need to download Redsn0w 0.9.8b4 for Windows or Mac accordantly to your device. Another thing you need to take notice is that you are using the latest version of iTunes. This is a tricky part because you need to start Redsn0w and browse for the iOS 4.3.5 and make the connection between the two things.
After you make Redsn0w recognizing the firmware file simply click on the next button and you will be forwarded in a new window. Now all you need to do is check the “Install Cydia” while leaving the other options as they are for now. And again press the “next” button! There will be a few instructions on the screen like: to power down your device and plug it in to your computer which need to be done in order for you to press next and continue to a new step.
Now the real deal begins: you need to put your device on DFU mode with a combination of the Power button and the Home button. Simply hold down the Power button for 5 seconds. After that while still holding the power button also press the Home button and keep them pressed together for around 10 seconds. After those 10 seconds let the Power button of while still keeping the Power button pressed for another 15 seconds. If all went well and you respected these instructions your device should be in DFU mode.
And this is the step where the magic happens and Redsn0w will now jailbreak your device. You don’t need to do anything and just let Redsn0w finish. Although no one said that your MAC or PC shouldn’t be touch I do recommend to let them in peace for the process to happen without any errors.
Again , I feel the need to repeat to keep in mind we are here discussing only for the first generation iPad because only this generation is breakable via Redsn0w 0.9.8b4. Also a nice information would be that both the Wi-Fi and the 3G models are supported. There is some progress into making the same things happen for the iPad 2 but testing are still in the process. For those of you who want more information about iPad 2, I am pretty sure this isn’t jailbroken if the version is upper than 4.3.3. And I don’t know why but I have the feeling most of you have 4.3.4 or even have started to download the new 4.3.5.
When it comes to iPad 2 the only method I see so far is using JailbreakMe 3.0 and again this will only work if you are using an iOS 4.3.3 version. But for example if you are among the people that saved their SHSH blobs for iOS 4.3.3, and tried the new iOS 4.3.4 or iOS 4.3.5 versions you are in luck. With the use of your Wi-Fi you can downgrade to iOS 4.3.3 and do an untethered jailbreak using the JailbreakMe 3.0 software mentioned earlier. Guides for how to do this will be explained in a further tutorial.
When it comes to users who bought a 3G iPad 2 and want to downgrade their devices, things aren’t looking so good. This happens just because at this point there aren’t any options when it comes to downgrading this model. Here are some useful links that will help you when it comes to upgrading your tablets. 1st there are the download iOS 4.3.5 for iPad and download iOS 4.3.4 for iPad links. Another two that you will need 100% are the download Redsn0w 0.9.8b4 for Windows and download Redsn0w 0.9.8b4 for Mac. When it comes to iTunes 10.4 for Windows & Mac here is the download link required.

SAMSUNG Q2 | SALES OF SAMSUNG Q2 | LATEST UPDATE OF SAMSUNG Q2

Samsung’s Q2 smartphone sales could have exceeded those of either Apple or Nokia, the first time the Korean company would have managed such strong performance. Samsung’s official figures for device sales are expected to come in at between 18m and 21m globally for the last quarter, research firm Strategy Analytics told Bloomberg, likely to best Nokia’s 16.7m smartphone sales and Apple’s 20.3m iPhone sales.

The increasing demand for Samsung’s phones – both regular handsets and smartphones – isexpected to further narrow the gap between Nokia’s first place position in the global market, and Samsung’s number two spot. Nokia currently holds around 26-percent, while Samsung is expected to reach around 20-percent.

“Samsung’s Android portfolio is selling strongly in most regions. Samsung stands a reasonable chance of capturing the top spot on a quarterly basis if it can continue expanding its Android portfolio across high-growth markets like China and Brazil. Samsung and Apple will be at similar levels in smartphones by the end of the year” Neil Mawston, analyst, Strategy Analytics

Samsung’s success hasn’t been entirely down to Android – the company also sells “dumb” phones and handsets running its own bada OS – but the popularity of devices like the Galaxy S II has certainly put the Google OS at the forefront of its marketing campaign. The GSII is expected to make its US debut in August.
The company is yet to confirm its official sales figures for Q2 2011.

Apple Looking To Buy Hulu?

Hulu is a video streaming service, wide spread on the United States territory. The company is up for sale for several months now and brands like Google have shown interest for the video service. It seems that Apple brought their mountains of money and started the negotiations for placing a bid.
It is rumored that Apple have placed a bid for Hulu, the famous video streaming service, the rival of the even more famous Netflix. If true, everyone is hoping that Hulu will be available in other countries as well, without many configuration changes.
In June it was rumored that Hulu hired specialized companies to help them sell the business they built over the years. Yahoo! shown inters in this matter, too, posting a bid for Hulu. But it seems that Apple also wants a piece of video streaming. If the deal goes on, Apple might use Hulu to create a payed video streaming service, rival of Netflix.
A source inside the company said for Associated Press said that Apple is getting ready to make an offer for Hulu video service. The source decided to remain anonymous, as Apple haven’t agreed to officially talk about the deal, says Business Week.
The Hulu deal will help Apple Store, which already provides video services for the users and so it could compete with Netflix Inc. As you probably know, Hulu is an payed online video streaming service, offering a series of TV shows, videos, or movies for hulu.com and some other online destinations, at the moment owned by The Walt Disney Co, News Corp si Comcast Corp.
Apple’s interest for buying Hulu was previously announced by Bloomberg News, too.
At the moment Apple’s users can buy or rent videos via iTunes. If Apple buys Hulu, then it might be integrated in iTunes and Apple TV and maybe even in iOS. Hulu Plus now comes at a price of $7.99 for month and includes premium content and analysts say that it will have more than 1 million subscribers in August.
Besides Yahoo!, Google and Apple, rumor has it that Amazon is also interested in getting their hands on Hulu. Lately, it seems that every time Google makes an offer for a company, Apple jumps in and makes a higher bid. Is this one of Apple’s strategies, or just a coincidence? Is Apple stealing another good deal from Google?

LATEST NOKIA MOBILE | LATEST N9 MOBILE | LATEST N9 IN RUSSIA | LATEST MOBILE AROUND WORLD

A month ago we were covering the official launch of Nokia N9. Nokia N9 is the first smartphone in the Finnish company’s portfolio to feature the brand new MeeGo operating system, but it seems that will also be the only one coming with this OS.
The news saying that Nokia N9 will be the only smartphone with MeeGo, made Nokia fans want it less, but a Nokia official assured the future customers of the device that the company will provide support for MeeGo, for a long period of time.
Although we expected Nokia N9, the first MeeGo smartphone to hit the market somewhere towards the end of the year, today we found out that N9 appeared in Russia, in the pre-order section of the Nokia official website.
We we first saw the specs of the new Nokia N9 we were not impressed: it comes with a 3.9-inch AMOLED display, 1GB of RAM, and 1GHz chipset, unfortunately not a member of the dual-core family. But once you look closer and see the browsing experience, the gesture control and the fluid user interface, you realize that Nokia N9 has all the requirements of a future sales hit.
Now that Nokia N9 is available for pre-order in Russia, we wonder when the MeeGo-powered device will hit other countries. The last time when the press rumored about Nokia N9, it was said that the device will be officially launched in September, with a price tag of $660 for the 16GB version of the smartphone.
The Nokia N9 pre-order availability in Russia was revealed after My Nokia Blog received a tip from one of their readers. We are eager to see Nokia’s official reaction about this news and also see if the N9 is really available for pre-order in the East European country.
