Latest update of twitter | twitter latest update | latest news of twitter | twitter updates

Philosophically there is no more arbitrary milestone than the passage of time, each year we celebrate the passing of another year, see what I mean? That’s why Twitter’s second five-year anniversary milestones of 350 billion tweets delivered and 600K users signing up daily fall a little flat (Twitter celebrated its first five year anniversary — commemorating when the first tweets were sent — back in March). The torrent of tech announcement posts about INSERT COMPANY HERE hitting 100K users or downloads or “shares” or tiddlywinks or badges is perpetual enough that all tech news sort of blends into a river of user numbers and APPLE VS. GOOGLE VS. TWITTER. Sigh.
It is amazing to think that Twitter launched publicly five years ago today. When Mike Arrington first wrote, “Odeo releases Twitter” in 2006 he had no idea that one day the TechCrunch Twitter account would be nearing a 2 million-follower distribution channel and that he himself would reach 82K. Very few would have predicted that the SMS notifications system with no vowel in its name would turn into a seven billion dollar company employing 500 people. “If this was a new startup, a one or two person shop, I’d give it a thumbs up for innovation and good execution on a simple but viral idea,” Mike wrote at the time.
Mike’s Twttr launch post is striking in its simplicity, at 327 words it’s sort of like the blogger version of the calm before the storm. The social network (?) microblogging platform(?) new form of mass media (?) has been the subject of incessant free press throughout its upward trajectory.
There was a period of time after its breakout at SXSW 2007 where everywhere you’d look you’d see an “… On Twitter” headline: “Man Proposes To Wife … On Twitter.” “Woman Gives Birth… On Twitter.” “Shaquille O’Neal … On Twitter” “Man Tweets From Space … On Twitter.” “Bronx Zoo Cobra … On Twitter.” At this point it’s news if something doesn’t happen “… On Twitter.”
So why can’t we shut up about it? In a sense Twitter is a mirror for life and human connection. There is a unique feeling one gets watching the flood of tweets from strangers pour in for the #iranelection, #WorldCup, #WWDC or any microhashtag on Twitter. A crucial part of my morning ritual is catching up with news on Twitter watching the quips made by friends pour in on equal footing with commentary made by media luminaries.
Thus I’ve been asking people all morning (on Twitter) about what Twitter, a service built essentially to communicate spurts of human activity, means to them. I’ve gotten back so much information it is tough and kind of meta to process, kind of like Twitter itself.
A sampling of important Twitter moments I’ve heard so far, in more or less chronological order:
When Apple released iTunes podcasting (because it forced Odeo to pivot), March 2006: the first tweet, July 2006: we cover Twttr, Twttr becomes Twitter, March 2007: it’s the breakout hit of SXSW, the fail whale supplants the fail cat, the #hashtag is invented, a plane is Twitpic’d landing in the Hudson river, CNN and Ashton’s race to a million followers, Oprah joins, the co-founders play musical chairs, Twitter buying mobile client Atebits (signaling the end of friendly developer ecosystem relations), #new Twitter, more downtime, the Iran riots, the time Twitter was hacked and so on and so forth.
The most striking thing is that most Twitter users have their own unique list of moments that cemented Twitter’s importance (for those that can tolerate slideshows Business Insider has a really good one here).
If you suspend disbelief on what percentage are spambots, Twitter has 200 million users whose #1 Twitter milestone is “Just setting up my Twttr” or the day they set up and account.
The company hopes by the end of 2013 to have 1 billion users (more than Facebook) in addition to $1.5 billion in revenue and an over 5,000 person staff. Just typing out that sort of ambition is sort of painful when the service still shows me that I’m following people who I’m not and is all over the place with regards to a steady revenue stream. For what it’s worth I’d pay Twitter $10 bucks a month just to archive and thread my DMs.
In fact, I think there’s many that would do the same and today we’re all wishing Silicon Valley’s charismatic but sort of flakey friend a very happy second birthday; Because honestly we’re all rooting for them.

Summer is here, and there’s a good chance some of you are thinking of picking up something to document your vacations with. iPhones and point-and-shoots are all well and good, but if you want to take it to the pool or the beach, it’s nice to feel sure that an errant splash isn’t going to disable your camera permanently. We’ve got a few water-hardened Flip-esque pocket cams here for you to choose from, but which deserves your hard-earned cash?
I’m not including image samples because to be honest, all these cameras have tiny sensors and small, weak lenses, which combine to produce noisy images with poor sharpness and so on. But they’re cheap and vacation-proof (i.e. immune to trips in shallow water, sand and dirt, and short drops). You can’t have everything.

LATEST UPDATE TO GOOGLE+ | GOOGLE+ AD BANNED ON FACEBOOK | FACEBOOK LATEST UPDATE | GOOGLE+ LATEST UPDATE |

What happens on Google+, stays on Google+. At least that’s the way Facebook would like to see things. Web developer Michael Lee Johnson found that out the hard way. He was trolling for Google+ friends on Facebook by running a Facebook ad asking people to add him to their Circles on Google+. Facebook, apparently, did not like him using its site to build his own social network somewhere else. So it pulled his ads.
He writes on Google+:
I recently ran a Google+ advertisement on Facebook that got all of my campaigns suspended. – Great.
Yeah, Facebook frowns on people promoting competing products with Facebook ads. It’s even in its Terms of Service. But seriously, where else is he going to find friends for Google+?

LATEST 4G AVAILABLE | LATEST 42MBPS SPEED | T-MOBILE 42 MBPS HSPA | 4G NEW TECHNOLOGY | LATEST 4G HSPA+ SPEED OF 42 MBPS | LATEST 4G TECHNOLOGY

T-Mobile is always looking to expand its HSPA+ coverage map so we thought to make a complete list of cities capable of handling 42 Mbps speeds ( commonly known as 4G ). But before we jump right to the point, you must first understand why 4G is such a wanted standard and what prerequisites are needed. The carrier brags to be the “Nation’s Largest 4G Network” and we are here to show you why.
First of all, 4G is the short term for “fourth generation” in cellular wireless standards. The abbreviation represents the 4th major speed barrier and it comes right after 3G and Edge ( also known as 2G ). The technology used behind 4G is HSPA+ and it’s a more advanced standard than LTE. If you want to see them as numbers, LTE can be viewed as 3.5G, with speeds lower than 42MBps but integrated in the same family as 4G. Although commonly branded as 4G by marketing strategists, LTE is just an advanced 3G.
When it comes to speeds, 4G can take your device to the limits of traffic consumptions, theoretically. Experts say that the peaks of this standard, using HSPA+ technology, can reach 1Gbps. Of course, there is no equipment at this moment, or network, that can reach such high speeds, but this is the marker where 4G ends and possibly 5G begins ( if something like that would exist in the near future ).
Taking in consideration that the 42Mbps HSPA+ standard has just been developed, T-Mobile offers a maximum download peak of 21 Mbps. This speed is three times higher than the maximum offered by 3G. That means you can download movies faster, browse the web quicker and stream big chunks of data. When you are a Netflix fan or just installed the latest Android Market version with support for watching movies, it really is a difference.

What differentiates the T-Mobile HSPA+ network from the rest? Well, after MetroPCS, they are the first major brand to implement this service. Secondly, the T-Mobile 42Mbps coverage map contains a large percent of the nation’s cities list that is constantly updated. Most of all, T-Mobile has the largest number of 4G capable devices in the world.
You see, being on a good HSPA+ network is not the only requirement. Your mobile device has to be 4G compatible and not many phones out there can do that. Usually, these devices are marked by a “4G” tag on their name, like the Nexus S 4G, Samsung Epic 4G and others.

The T-Mobile 42Mbps HSPA+ cities list / coverage map

T-Mobile’s high speed network is offered in over 100 metropolitan areas and covers well over 200 million, all over the country. You can view the complete 4G network supported areas in the document below. This will be updated as T-Mobile builds more towers. Click on the link below.

What all you need to make money from Google Adsense| Earn money from adsense| Earn Part Time Income From Google Adsense|Google Adsense Tips

I’ve been reading a few forums and blogs about Google Adsense tips lately, and thought it would be helpful to consolidate as many as possible in one place without the comments. I’ve also thrown in a few tips of my own. We start out with some of the basic general stuff and move to the more specific topics later on.

Build an Empire?

When you’re deciding to become a website publisher you will fall into one of two broad categories:
  • Publish 100 websites that each earn $1 a day profit
  • Publish 1 website that earns $100 a day profit
The reality of it is, most people end up somewhere in between. Having 100 websites leaves you with maintenance, management and content issues. Having one website leaves you open to all sort of fluctuations (search engines algorithm’s, market trends, etc). You can adapt your plan on the way, but you’ll have an easier time if you start out going in the direction of where you want to end up.

General or Niche

You can build your website around general topics or niche ones. Generally speaking niche websites work better with adsense. First off the ad targeting is much better. Secondly as you have a narrow focus your writing naturally becomes more expert in nature. Hopefully this makes you more authority in your field.
If this is your first try at building an adsense website, make it about something you enjoy. It will make the process much easier and less painful to accomplish. You should however make sure that your topic has enough of an ad inventory and the payout is at a level you are comfortable with. You may love medieval folk dancing, but the pool of advertisers for that subject is very small (in fact it’s currently zero).
Once you’ve gotten the hang of how Adsense works on a website, you are going to want to dabble in some high paying keywords, you may even be tempted to buy a high paying keyword list. This does come with some dangers. First off the level of fraud is much higher on the big money terms. Secondly there is a distortion of the supply and demand relationship for these terms. Everyone wants ads on their website that make $35 or more a click, however the number of advertisers who are willing to pay that much is pretty limited. Additionally the competition for that traffic is going to be stiff. So, don’t try to run with the big dogs if you can’t keep up. If you have to ask if you’re a big dog, then chances are, you’re not. I have used a high dollar keywords report from cashkeywords.com and was pleased with my results (see cash keywords free offer recap).

New Sites, Files and Maintenance

When you’re building a new site don’t put adsense on it until it’s finished. In fact I’d go even farther and say don’t put adsense on it until you have built inbound links and started getting traffic. If you put up a website with “lorem ipsum” dummy or placeholder text, your adsense ads will almost certainly be off topic. This is often true for new files on existing websites, especially if the topic is new or different. It may take days or weeks for google’s media bot to come back to your page and get the ads properly targeted. TIP: If you start getting lots of traffic from a variety of IP’s you will speed this process up dramatically.
I like to build my sites using include files. I put the header, footer and navigation in common files. It makes it much easier to maintain and manage. I also like to put my adsense code in include files. If I want/need to change my adsense code, it’s only one file I have to work with. TIP: I also use programming to turn the adsense on or off. I can change one global variable to true or false and my adsense ads will appear or disappear.

Managing URL’s and channels

Adsense channels is one area where it’s really easy to go overboard with stats. You can set up URL channels to compare how one website is doing to another. You can also set up sub channels for each URL. If you wanted to you do something channels like this:
  • domain1.com – 728 banner
  • domain1.com – 336 block
  • domain1.com – text link
  • domain2.com – 728 banner
  • domain2.com – image banner
  • domain2.com – 336 block
  • domain3.com – 300 block
Another ‘trick’ that can increase your CTR is by blending your adsense into your body copy. For example if your body copy is black, remove the adsense border and make the title, text, and URL black.TIP: Try changing all of your page hyperlinks to a high contrast color (like dark red or a bold blue) then change the adsense title to the same color. While this is great for testing and knowing who clicks where and why, it makes your reporting a little wonky. Your total number will always be correct but when you look at your reports with a channel break down things will get displayed multiple times and not add up to correct total. Makes things pretty confusing, so decide if you really need/want that level of reporting detail. TIP: At the very least you want to know what URL is generating the income so be sure to enter distinct URL channels.
The one area where I’ve found blended ads don’t perform as well is forums, especially ones with a high volume of repeat members. Regular visitors develop banner blindness pretty quickly. One ‘trick’ to keep the ads from being ignored is to randomize the color and even the placement. As with any of the decisions about location, placement and color it’s a trade off. How much do you emphasize the ads without annoying your visitors. Remember it’s better to have a 1% CTR with 500 regular visitors as opposed to a 5% CTR with 50 visitors. TIP: For forums try placing the adsense ads directly above or below the the first forum thread.

Using Images

One of the latest ‘secrets’ to make the rounds is using images placed directly above or below an adsense leaderboard. This has been used for a while but came out in a digital point forum thread where a member talked about quadrupling their CTR. Basically you set up the adsense code in a table with four images that line up directly with the ads. Whether or not this is deceptive is fuzzy and very subjective. Obviously four blinking arrows would be ‘enticing people to click’ and be against the adsense TOS. However placing pictures of 4 laptops over laptops ads isn’t, so use your best judgment here and look at it from the advertiser or Google’s perspective. If you have a question as to your implementation being ‘over the line’ write to adsense and ask them to take a look.
As far as using the images, I’ve done it and can tell you it definitely works. You get the best results when the images ‘complete the story the ads are telling’. For example if you have ads about apple pies, use pictures of freshly baked apple pies, instead of granny smith, Macintosh, pink lady, and braeburn apples. TIP: Don’t limit yourself to using images only on that size ad unit, it works just as well with the other sizes, like the 336 rectangle.
Added:
I got a little criticizm for this and rightly so, as I wasn’t specific as I could have been. Do not use very identifiable brand name or products for your images. Use generic non-specific stock images whenever possible and appropriate.

Multiple Ad Units

Another way to increase ad revenue is to use multiple ad units. According to Google’s TOS you are allowed to post up to three ad units per page. Similar to standard search results the highest paying ad units will be served first and the lowest being served last. If there is enough of an ad inventory, place all three ad units. However you should pay attention to the payouts. Current assumption is you get 60% of the revenue (on a $0.05 click you get $0.03). So if a click from the third ad unit is only paying between 3 to 5 cents you may want to omit it from your page. This is one are where giving your ad units channels does have value. If one ad unit is getting a higher percentage of click throughs you’ll want to make sure the highest paying ads are being served there. TIP:Use CSS positioning to get your highest paying ads serving in the location with the highest CTR.

Adsense in RSS

With the growth of blogs and RSS feeds you’re starting to see adsense included in the feeds now. IMHO this doesn’t work, and here’s why:
  • You only get to place one ad unit.
  • You have no control over finding the ‘sweet spot’ for the ad unit.
  • The ads are usually poorly targeted (this is getting better).
  • People develop ‘banner blindness’.
I know people like being able to read full postings in their feed reader, and there are at least a dozen other reasons for full posts from pleasing your users to mobile offline computing, all of which are completely valid. However if your website depends on generating adsense revenue to survive, then bring them to the site and show them the ads there.

Affiliate Sites

Placing Adsense on affiliate sites is tricky. Are you giving up a $10, $20, or $30 sale for a $1 click? This is something you have to test on your own to figure out. If you aren’t converting now it’s definitely worth a try. I like to use adsense on my article pages. For example let’s say you had an affiliate website where you sold shoes. You’re going to need some related articles to ‘flesh out’ the site. Things like ‘getting a shoe shine’ or ‘finding a shoe repair shop’ these are excellent spots for adsense. While you won’t get rich, they will usually provide a small steady income and cover things like hosting costs.TIP: If you find you have pages getting more than 50 clicks per month add more pages about this topic, and link the pages together. Mine you logs for the search terms used.

PPC Arbitrage

This is a dicey subject so I’m going to steer clear of precise examples. Basically you bid on low volume uber niche terms at a very low cost. You set up landing page that contains high payout ads for the related general topic. You are looking for terms with a large gap between the price you are bidding on adwords and the price you are getting on Adsense. If you pay $0.10 a click and get $1.00 a click you make $0.90 each click. To get your adsense ad approved you will need to ‘add some value’ along the way. You can make a killing or get taken to the cleaners with this one, so make sure you know what you are doing before you try it.

Amazon To Launch New Kindle And Android-powered Tablet

AMAZON UPCOMING TABLET:

New Amazon Tablet

The books e-books enthusiasts that still don’t have an e-book reader the fall is coming with two new temptations for them, this time from Amazon. The name Kindle, needs no introduction.
The interesting thing, as we told you before, is that the two Kindles could be powered by Google’s Android and have tablet-ish configurations. But let’s forget about the configuration, as the big mystery about the new Amazon Kindle is the display coming with the device, as taking a look at the OS rumors, we believe it will be a LCD  touch just like it happens to 99.9% of the tablets, but also for other marketed products like e-book readers (Nook Color).
The two Amazon e-readers will enter different market segments: one on the high-end market, for wealthy customers, the other on the entry-level market or mainstream.
Even though the first rumors about an Android tablet appeared a few months ago, saying that Samsung will probably build their tablet, the guys at Wall Street Journal are coming with new rumors. The Amazon tablet will be a serious competitor for iPad, as all the other tablets are (more or less).
Anyway the Amazon tablet will not feature a camera (an uninspired move, I’d say) and will be optimized for the products in the company’s virtual store: books, movies and music.
The tablet will most likely have a 9-inch display, and, as aforementioned, will be a good host for Google’s OS, Android. There are also two new Kindle version rumors, one for low budget and the other one for the ones in love with touch panels, but the details are too poor.
But whe? We expect to get our hands on it by the end of October. And if we talk about Amazon portfolio changes, we have to mention that there are considerable sales on their Kindle products.
The AT&T ads e-book reader version is $25 cheaper, from $164 to $139.

LATEST MICROSOFT SOCIAL NETWORK PROJECT | LATEST MICROSOFT PROJECT | LATEST UPDATE OF MICROSOFT | TULALIP NEW PROJECT OF MICROSOFT | LATEST PROJECT TULALIP OF MICROSOFT | TULALIP SOCIAL NETWORKING PROJECT

We live in the era when social networks are wide spread. We all heard (and when I mean ALL I say each and everyone of you) about the famous Facebook, Zuckerberg’s social network, which has not less than 750 million active users (yes you read correctly, it’s 750 million)

Microsoft Tulalip
The Google thought that Facebook needs some competition and launched their Google Plus, with their Circles feature. They managed to gather over 10 million users in just two weeks and this with the social network only in beta stage, and accepting users only with invitation.
Remember the Mirc? Or Hi5 social network, that was famous in Europe. Not to mention about MySpace that was the 5 most accessed web site in the world before Facebook’s ascension. Now we have Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google + (which is only in beta stage). Well, it seems that Microsoft will join the social networks avalanche, with the brand new Socl.com.
The blogs enter in possession of such information after Microsoft accidentally leaked a page containing some details regarding this hybrid. I called it hybrid, as it’s the same type of service Google wants to launch: a combination between a search engine and a social network, in which the users set the trend of the searches.
Microsoft’s new project was called Tulalip, and the description says that the service allows the users to find what they are looking for and share their thoughts “easier than ever”. “Socl” can be considered an abbreviation of “social,” indicating the goal of this project, namely a competitor for Facebook and Google +.
Anyway, the question is: do we need another social network now?

Google Q2 2011 Earnings: $9bn Revenue, $2.97bn Profit

Google Earnings

Google has just announced the Q2 2011 earnings and we have to say that it’s all good for the search giant. The official numbers say that Google has made about $9.02 billion revenue in the second quarter of 2011 which is 32% more than the same period last year so the company is definitely on the right track.
The company’s CEO, Larry Page, was delighted to announce that this is a new record for Google, and that most of the money came from their websites. Google’s website made more than $6.23 billion in Q2 2011 while in the same period last year, the firm made about $4.5 billion.
Google’s net income has also risen year-over-year up to $2.51 billion compared to about $1.84 billion in Q2 2010. Although Google recorded the biggest revenue in its history, the company has also recorded some of the highest operating expenses which affected the profits. In Q2 2011, the great Goog had a $2.97 billion profit which is bigger than in the second quarter of 2010 when Google posted a $2 billion profit.
Roughly one month ago, Google’s Paul Allen has announced that more than 500,000 Android devices are being activated on a daily basis and that the numbers are rising 4% daily. Well, Larry Page has now confirmed that 550,000 Android devices are activated daily and that the company will reach 600,000 activations in the near future.
The Android Market is also catching up with the iOS App Store and now more than 6 billion downloads have been reported. The Android Market Share in the US is rising rapidly, while in the rest of the world the sales are “good, but not that good.”
Sony Ericsson has also posted its quarterly earnings, but the conglomerate is not doing too well. Actually, Sony Ericsson has revealed a €50 million loss, while in the same time last year, the company recorded a €12 million profit.
Analysts and Sony Ericsson didn’t think that the Q2 2011 shouldn’t have been so bad, but the Japan earthquake and tsunami have had a disastrous impact on the company, too, not only on the country. Sony Ericsson sold about 7.6 million cellphones and smartphones during the quarter and things would have been different if the firm didn’t lose the one-and-a-half million cellphones during the Japan earthquake, one of the biggest natural disasters in history.
Anyway if you bought an Android-powered Sony Ericsson smartphone then you’ve helped both companies so you should be very proud of yourself.

Microsoft is holding an interesting event called Worldwide Partner Conference where it discusses everything about its products including Windows for desktops, Windows for mobile, and the Xbox platform. One of the most exciting keynotes was held by Andy Lees who’s done almost all it can be done in a couple of hours, but to announce a new operating system by Microsoft. And when I say new, I’m not talking about the already announced Windows 8 – I’m talking about a new kind of OS that would cover all Microsoft products.

LATEST UPCOMING ANDROID | LATEST MOTOROLA ANDROID | LATEST DUAL CORE ANDROID | UPCOMING ANDROID | LAUNCH OF MOTOROLA DUAL CORE ANDROID

Hey, look at that! Just a month after Sprint and Motorola announced the beastly, dual-core, Android-powered Photon with the uber-vague launch window of “sometime in Q3″, they’re back at the well with proper launch details.
If all goes as planned, the Motorola Photon (fancy kickstand an all) will be hitting Sprint’s stores on July 31st for the totally reasonable price of $200 on a 2-year contract.
The Motorola Photon Specs:
  • 1 Ghz, Dual-core Tegra 2 CPU
  • 4.3″ qHD (960×540) display
  • Comes with Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) out of the box
  • 3G and 4G (WiMax) friendly
  • Sprint’s first “Global” WiMax phone — it runs on Sprint’s (CDMA) 3G and WiMax here in the states, but works on GSM internationally
  • Compatible with Motorola’s accessory docking system, a la the AT&T Atrix. It’s not clear yet if it plays friendly with the Laptop Dock system, though, as Sprint/Motorola only mention the TV Multimedia Dock and the Car Dock. That’s okay, though, because the Laptop Dock is hella stupid.
  • Dual cameras: 8 megapixels on the back, with a VGA resolution (sneaky way of saying 0.3 megapixel) front facing camera
  • 16GB of on board memory, with support for microSD cards up to 32 gigs
  • Bluetooth 2.1
  • 802.11b/g/n WiFi
  • Plus, it has that super sweet kickstand, which usually isn’t Motorola’s thing

Video Camera, Sensor Detection Glasses Helping Partially Sighted People

If you were to go to this year’s Royal Society Summer ScienceExhibition there would be so many things to see. But from our point of view the one thing that caught our imagination is the set of glasses that has inside the technology you normally see in devices like smartphones and some of thegame consoles. I think from this description you can see why we are so focused on this subject.
In fact if we think a little better about this exhibition we do realize this isn’t a presentation about the latest technologies that are launched by Apple or what Android version was just released the other day. In the glass sector we are speaking about a simple and yet complicated pair of glasses with only one purpose: to help those who have a poor vision and give them a more normal life that you and I enjoy.
When we normally associate a pair of glasses with technology found in smartphones and things that involving gaming you can realize the element between these two can only be composed of different video cameras, tracking software, some type of face recognition, position detectors and last but not least some depth sensors. The people at Oxford have managed to implement all these things in what everybody normally uses and that is a pair of glasses. These glasses can be used by people who suffer from impartial blindness and have some vision left or their view is cloudy or blurry and can’t process things at 100%.
This pair of glasses is appropriate when it comes to common types of visual impediment composing of things like age-related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. In a research made by the same institute they have found that around 30% of people what are 75 years old or older have some early signs of blindness caused by age-related macular degeneration. Also, when we speak about this segment of people, around 7% of them have presented a more advanced form.
This is where the glasses will come very handy because of the video cameras mounted at the corners, cameras that will capture the thing that the owner is looking at. Also the information received from the cameras will be displayed in form of some tiny lights embedded in the see-through lenses of the glasses which will offer some extra feedback about the targeted object.
The recognition of the object can be traced back to smartphone technology. I think you already tried different apps that when you take a photo for example recognize where you are or what you do and at the same time give information about the targeted object. This information when it comes to glasses will offer a nice aid when trying to navigate in a room. It will pick the most relevant things and will offer information to people.
This happens because as we already know when having a conversation eye contact is one of the most important things to establish a relationship with the other person. Also I think we all realize that wearing a ridiculous pair of glasses in public may make the wearer a little uncomfortable.
The ability for other people to see through display will make a better communication why on the other said of the glass different colored lights appear, giving much information to the owner. Like for example you can have different colors for people or object while the brightness of things can inform you about how close or far are the object you could interact with.
Also with the progress made Dr. Stephan is pretty sure we will reach a point where things like reading the news headlines will be possible. He has named this ability as optical character recognition, a feature that will allow knowing a computer headline and realizing this is different from a video image for example. Also the pair of glasses will have on them earphones that will explain information and will make the wearer aware of dynamic things. Also in most smartphones there are barcodes reader implemented. A similar system could be implemented at some point, a thing that will make buying normal products an everyday thing.
But with so much technology the price is not cheap. To be the proud owner of such a product you will have to pay around £500. But if you make a comparison, in order to train a guide dog people have to pay around £25-30,000. So I think the difference is obvious.
Although many could consider the information will be too hard to learn especially by older people studies have demonstrated the capabilities of the brain. Also the doctor said that same as physiotherapy, the pair of glasses need to be tailored for individual players in order to improve at the full potential the vision of members.
People will have at their disposal a giant screen with video images of the exhibition floor itself will show all the required information. Also there is a small display added to the lens, a display that will offer people the needed information to find their way and make the required tasks they want. Also for people to actually see things in work there is an early prototype of transparent LED array for the eventual glasses will also be on display.
Last but not least, all of this is still at an early stage and we can call this project still a prototype. But at the same time this is one of the main focus points at the Royal Society’s exhibition. The funds for this project come from the National Institute of Health Research and some actual studies have shown the product will have some real person testing later this year.

Google Updates Android Market For Smartphones With Books And Movies

If you are an Android user, then you probably know that theapplication from which you download all your apps from is called “Market.” I know, you all love it, even when it downloads the applications twice even though you choose single download (it happens on older versions of Android firmware).
Today, Google brings good news for all you Android fans. No, they are not launching Android Ice Cream Sandwich… Google launched an major update for the Android Marketservice, which is now looking less like Apple’s App Store and more like Windows Marketplace, at least in terms of design.
The new Android market place now allows its users to buy books and rent movies.
All smartphones powered by Android 2.2 Froyo or any other newer versions can access the new Android Market, and the users in US can now rent thousands of movies, with prices starting at $1.99. The videos sections inAndroid Market now allows you to rent movies, whether you have an Android phone, tablet or even from a PC, by using the web browser and navigating to Market.
When compared to other services of its kind, the newAndroid Market lets you watch the movie anytime, even though you are not connected to Internet. Both the books you buy and the movies you rent are synced with your Google account, so you can access them from any terminal the user sings in with his Google Account, without having to transfer or download it again.
As about the design changes, Android Market is now a lot more accessible and offers more room for the most interesting downloads of the week. Once you update to the new Android Market you should be able to spot the new panel called Staff picks and Editor’s Choice.
Summing up, good move Google, but you should’ve make it look less like Windows Marketplace
