Android 2.3 for the Xperia X10 will be provided in August.
The new features include an improved user interface similar to that of the Xperia Arc and Neo, the ability to install apps onto the microSD card, Wi-Fi mobile hotspot which is seen in most devices, Facebook Inside Xperia (Sony Ericsson's revamped version of the Facebook application with improved support and better usability), and some cosmetic tweaks to the user interface.
It is a bit disappointing that handsets like the Xperia X8, X10 Mini, and Mini Pro will be missing the not be provided with the Gingerbread update. The devices will be stuck with Android 2.1 Eclair because SE does not have any plans of upgrading the device further. But there isn't really anything that SE can do about this, because these devices aren't well-equipped in terms of hardware to be eligible for the update. However, the X10 users are lucky enough to get the update. Take a look at the video below for an idea as to what to expect from the update.
