Samsung has uploaded a demonstration video of the handset showing most of its features.
We have now been treated to a video demo of the new Galaxy R displaying its features. The Galaxy R will feature a 4.2" Super Clear LCD display compared to the S2's Super AMOLED Plus display and a 1 GHz dual core chipset instead of the 1.2 GHz dual core Exynos chipset of the Galaxy S 2. Other specs include a 5 MP camera capable of recording 720p video, 8 GB of built in storage and Android 2.3 Gingerbread. The Social Hub, Games Hub, Music Hub, and Reader Hubwill also be seen on the Galaxy R. It therefore seems like nothing much will change except the hardware of the handset.
The Galaxy R could certainly attract a few customers around the world considering the fact that its sibling the S2 is priced heftily. If Samsung wants to make an impression with this handset, there is no doubt that the handset has to be priced moderately. The Galaxy R almost comes in the range of the LG Optimus 2x with similar processing speeds. There is no word yet on the device's launch and availability worldwide, but Samsung wouldn't want to wait too long to launch the device since now is the right time to launch new handsets.
