New Delhi: A bag containing some powder and two pencil batteries was found at the bus stop outside the Gargi College in south Delhi on Monday afternoon triggering another security scare.
According to the principal, Mira Ramachandran, a student saw a white packet at the bus stop while leaving college. She alerted the college staff, who in turn called cops.
However, the police are yet to ascertain whether the bag contains any explosives.
"There is some powder, wires and two pencil batteries. Nothing was connected. We are examining the bag. It appears to be the handiwork of somebody who wanted to create mischief," a police official said.
There was no circuit to improvise the bomb, the official added.
Bomb disposal squads and forensic experts were immediately rushed to the spot after the police received a call from the college. They have cordoned off the area.
The discovery of the bag with suspicious material comes five days after a low intensity bomb exploded outside the High Court on May 25. Nobody was injured in the incident.
The college is currently holding the annual examination. There has been no change in the schedule so far.
