SAMSUNG GALAXY S2 EPIC 4G ON SEPTEMBER 16

Samsung's NYC press event is currently underway, and as is no surprise to anyone, we're finally getting official announcements for the Galaxy S2 on US carriers. We saw some leaked information on Sprint's GS2, the Epic 4G Touch, come out earlier today, and now we're getting the big picture. Of the three models, Sprint's will apparently be first to arrive, landing in the hands of customers in just a couple weeks, on September 16.

We already learned that the SGS2E4GT (what a mouthful) would feature a large 4.52-inch display, and now we can add to that measurement that the phone will be 0.38 inches thick, or just under one centimeter. The phone is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core Exynos SoC, and will obviously support Sprint WiMAX for 4G speeds. That processing power will come in handy when filming 1080p video with the handset's main eight-megapixel camera.

With a service agreement, the Sprint Epic 4G Touch will set you back about $200, which is pretty reasonable for a high-profile phone like this; Sprint probably cold have gotten away with charging a bit of a premium.
