EA GAMES | EA GAMES UPDATES | EA GAMES LATEST UPDATES

Gamescom 2011 has begun today and it started with a bang as we’ve seen lots of interesting trailers including DOTA 2 and Borderlands 2, but what happened this afternoon in Cologne will probably never happen again. To put it simply: EA killed Gamescom. Oh, yeah, it really did! The EA press conference was absolutely tremendous, one of the best I’ve ever witnessed and it looks like the publisher is looking to repair the bad image that formed around the company in the past months.
The star of the event was Battlefield 3, of course, but the audience was impressed by Need For Speed: The Run. I was skeptical about this game as the previous three titles in the Need for Speed series were pretty boring. NFS: The Run brings back the fun and we are looking forward to the game’s release on November 15th on Windows PC, Xbox 360, and PS3 among others.
EA’s Gamescom 2011 keynote also revealed a new FIFA Street game that will feature double the amount of moves and tricks found in FIFA 12 so the game will be pretty big. FIFA Street 4 will have a revamped engine and many other new features that should gather together gamers in five vs five or six vs six across the globe. The game is launching next year on Xbox 360 and PS3, while PC users are left out in the cold.
A new FIFA 12 gameplay trailer was also released this afternoon and we’ve noticed a new gameplay engine that make the footballers more intelligent. EA said that FIFA 12 is the best game in the franchise it ever developed as it received positive feedback from all the people involved and those who have seen it in action.
EA revealed a new Player vs Player multiplayer online game for Windows PCs. The game is named Wrath of Heroes and it’s going to be launched soon. Everyone can sign up today for Wrath of Heroes Beta at this link here. Although the graphics will not be that great, it looks like a fun alternative to another free MMO game like League of Legends.
Star Wars: The Old Republic also made a cameo at EA’s press conference and it seems like the game is a record for the publisher. Currently, EA cannot keep up with the pre-orders for SWTOR Collector’s Edition and it asked the fans to remain patient as they will ship enough copies when the game launches. SWTOR was live demoed with the help of eight players and the audience gave them a well-deserved round of applause.
And then Mass Effect 3 took the scene with a gameplay trailer called Squad Leader. It consists of Commander Shepard leading his team into an endless fight. When it all seemed like it will turn out just fine, a mech warrior showed up to ruin the party and to let us know that Mass Effect 3 will not be an easy, dull game – it’s going to be big! The Mass Effect 3 release date is March 6th on the North American market.
A live trailer for SSX was also revealed and EA hopes that more than 100,000 gamers will play when the product will be completed. SSX was built using data from NASA and Google Earth, it will support Explore and Global Events modes, and friends’ ghosts. SSX will allow users to compete against other users in real time.
The Secret World will be a very fun game where all conspiracy theories and legends are true. The game’s release date is February 7th in North America and EA believes that we don’t even have an idea how cool is this game. Well, if it’s got big monsters like the one in the gameplay trailer, then I’d say that it will be really fun.
OK, now forget everything that you know about gaming because you actually don’t know anything. Although EA’s Battlefield 3 will definitely be sold in fewer units than Activision’s Modern Warfare 3, I’m going to admit that the former is my favorite. Still, we shouldn’t compare these two games, but they’re both about modern warfare so we’re going to make a comparison between the two.
When the part about Battlefield 3 was announced, the public went crazy and when it ended it left us wanting more. We want to see more, we want to play more, and want this game sooner. EA and DICE introduced a co-op mode for Battlefield 3 on the PS3, and despite the poor graphics, the rescue mission was lively and engaging.
But the real deal was the last trailer which involves a 64 multiplayer gaming action on a map called Caspian Border where we witnessed the return of the jets in Battlefield games. This trailer showed why Battlefield 3 is cool. Just think about it: 64-player multiplayer game!
The trailer showed PC in-game footage that you can watch below. If you do not watch it then you will miss everything. Battlefield 3 will be amazing when it launches later this year on October 25th across North America. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a cooler trailer for a game and a better press conference. Everybody was very excited, and then thrilled about the gaming experience that BF3 will provide.
Modern Warfare 3 is just a FPS, while Battlefield 3 is a true war game. I can’t remember the last time I’ve seen a real warfare game, but BF3 will probably provide the same experience as the original Medal of Honor games. Just watch the Battlefield 3 64-player multiplayer Caspian Border trailer below! Make sure you click the full HD button!
P.S. How come nobody spotted / talked about the jets in the cover / logo of Battlefield 3? They were right there all along!
