Sony Ericsson announced the Xperia Pro this February and we met it at MWC. It was supposed to be already available but it got initially delayed to July and then to Q4. It now appears that it will be hitting the British market next week.
According to our friends over at Clove, the Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro is expected on October 6. For roughly $500 you can get the phone unlocked, packing a 3.7-inch FWVGA screen with 480 x 854 resolution, 1GHz Snapdragon CPU, 320MB of RAM, eight-megapixel camera on the back and two-megapixel webcam on the front. It runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread and it's basically an Xperia Neo with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. What could have been an excellent device this spring or summer turns out to be (unfortunately) a mid-range Android this fall.
