TWO HIGH MEGAPIXEL ANDROIDS

Dell's Streak Pro isn't the only newly-announced Android on its way to Japanese carrier SoftBank. We've also heard of new models on the way from Panasonic and Sharp, both with some quite-high-resolution cameras.

Panasonic will be bringing the carrier its Lumix 101P with a nice big lens and 13.2-megapixel CMOS image sensor. The Android will arrive running Gingerbread, and is powered by a 1GHz dual-core TI processor. Its display measures-in at four inches, and will be in qHD. Waterproofing certification will let you risk a little moisture while trying to snap the perfect shot.

Sharp's Aquos 102SH is also driven by a dual-core 1GHz TI chip and has waterproofing, but its camera is just a bit lower-res at 12 megapixels, and it doesn't have quite the elaborate lens of the Lumix. What it does offer is a full 720p 4.5-inch display with autostereoscopic 3D effects. Again, look for Gingerbread on-board.

There's a chance that the Aquos could find a home outside Japan in the future, but there's no word regarding the Lumix. That one should hit Japan in November, with the Aquos following in December.
