HTC Vigor Android-powered Smartphone

Yesterday it was rumored that Samsung is preparing a tablet with a screen resolution of 1280 x 768 and today we are talking about a device with a similar screen resolution, this time coming from HTC.
If the mysterious Samsung device was looking more like a tablet, well HTC Vigor is certainly a smartphone. And not just any smartphone, but one with a fabulous HD display.
We can’t know for sure if HTC Vigor will be the first smartphone in the world to feature a 4.3-inch display with 720p resolution, as Motorola is rumored to be working hard on such a device, too.
What we know for sure is that Vigor’s codename is ADR6425 and that a picture taken with HTC smartphone’s 6MP camera have hit the web at the end of the month.
In addition, this handset have surfaced (well, only it’s name) in the data base of NenaMark benchmark test. Rumor has it that Vigor will be using an 1.5GHz processor, helped by an Adreno 220 GPU and will be running on Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread.
As HTC Vigor will join the smartphones line-up of Verizon, having LTE connectivity support will not surprise us.
Even so, the attraction point of the device will be the extraordinary 720p HD display, with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. Of course, Vigor might be a tablet as well, but the chances are very low for HTC to launch such a device.
To be honest I’m looking forward of getting my hands on a device featuring an HD display, as at the moment the best display you can get attached to a smartphone is Samsung’s Super AMOLED Plus.
And that’s not all; just take a look and see how awesome the Super AMOLED Plus display is, then just try to imagine what Samsung would bring to the market in an attempt to launch their first phone with HD display. A god of the smartphones.
