LATEST 4G AVAILABLE | LATEST 42MBPS SPEED | T-MOBILE 42 MBPS HSPA | 4G NEW TECHNOLOGY | LATEST 4G HSPA+ SPEED OF 42 MBPS | LATEST 4G TECHNOLOGY

T-Mobile is always looking to expand its HSPA+ coverage map so we thought to make a complete list of cities capable of handling 42 Mbps speeds ( commonly known as 4G ). But before we jump right to the point, you must first understand why 4G is such a wanted standard and what prerequisites are needed. The carrier brags to be the “Nation’s Largest 4G Network” and we are here to show you why.
First of all, 4G is the short term for “fourth generation” in cellular wireless standards. The abbreviation represents the 4th major speed barrier and it comes right after 3G and Edge ( also known as 2G ). The technology used behind 4G is HSPA+ and it’s a more advanced standard than LTE. If you want to see them as numbers, LTE can be viewed as 3.5G, with speeds lower than 42MBps but integrated in the same family as 4G. Although commonly branded as 4G by marketing strategists, LTE is just an advanced 3G.
When it comes to speeds, 4G can take your device to the limits of traffic consumptions, theoretically. Experts say that the peaks of this standard, using HSPA+ technology, can reach 1Gbps. Of course, there is no equipment at this moment, or network, that can reach such high speeds, but this is the marker where 4G ends and possibly 5G begins ( if something like that would exist in the near future ).
Taking in consideration that the 42Mbps HSPA+ standard has just been developed, T-Mobile offers a maximum download peak of 21 Mbps. This speed is three times higher than the maximum offered by 3G. That means you can download movies faster, browse the web quicker and stream big chunks of data. When you are a Netflix fan or just installed the latest Android Market version with support for watching movies, it really is a difference.

What differentiates the T-Mobile HSPA+ network from the rest? Well, after MetroPCS, they are the first major brand to implement this service. Secondly, the T-Mobile 42Mbps coverage map contains a large percent of the nation’s cities list that is constantly updated. Most of all, T-Mobile has the largest number of 4G capable devices in the world.
You see, being on a good HSPA+ network is not the only requirement. Your mobile device has to be 4G compatible and not many phones out there can do that. Usually, these devices are marked by a “4G” tag on their name, like the Nexus S 4G, Samsung Epic 4G and others.

T-Mobile’s high speed network is offered in over 100 metropolitan areas and covers well over 200 million, all over the country. You can view the complete 4G network supported areas in the document below. This will be updated as T-Mobile builds more towers. Click on the link below.
