NVIDIA Brings Its Tegra Zone To The Web

If you've got an Android powered by a NVIDIA-made Tegra chip, you've no doubt checked out the content available through the company's Tegra Zone app. The program helps you find games exclusive to the platform, or optimized for enhanced performance when running on a Tegra. Now NVIDIA is expanding the reach of the Zone, moving from just an app to a full-fledged web presence at tegrazone.com.

Just as the web-based Google Market lets you discover apps, check out reviews, and install apps while away from your smartphone, the Tegra Zone website fills the same niche for NVIDIA users. Additionally, the site has news and videos related to Tegra-based gaming, and a new community forum to let users post about their smartphones, tablets, and comment on the latest games.

We might not be the biggest fans of device-exclusive content (the last thing any smartphone platformneeds is more fragmentation), but we certainly understand the business motivations behind it. The Tegra Zone may not sway any on-the-fence buyer towards a NVIDIA-based device, but it sure looks like a nice treat if you've already picked one up.
