AT&T Galaxy S2 Will Have 4.3-Inch Screen, Arrive In Coming Weeks

T-Mobile and Sprint may be getting the Samsung Galaxy S2 with big 4.52-inch Super AMOLED+ screens, but it looks like AT&T's GS2 will have its own draw to attract customer who have been waiting for the smartphone's US debut. While the AT&T version will feature a slightly-smaller 4.3-inch display, it will also slim down its figure a bit, ending up just 8.89 millimeters thick in places, making it look like the thinnest smartphone you'll find in the US with 4G connectivity.

Like T-Mobile's GS2 release, we've yet to learn of a hard-and-fast release date for AT&T's, but at tonight's Samsung event it was mentioned that AT&T should get the phone in the "coming weeks".T-Mobile's talking "fall", so it's really up-in-the-air right now which carrier will be able to launch its version first.

AT&T's put out a release detailing the specs for its GS2, and there's not much surprising here. Once again, we're looking at a dual-core 1.2GHz system, but there's no specific mention of it being Samsung's Exynos chip; it likely is, though, rather than a Tegra 2. The GS2 will ship running Gingerbread 2.3.4, and support the same A/V abilities as the other GS2s with their HDMI out, docking, and Samsung Media Hub. It's also worth noting that while 8.89 millimeters is quite thin, it's a little thicker than the international GS2, which Samsung describes as 8.49 millimeters at its slimmest.
