The HTC EVO 3D and EVO View 4G release date is June 24th which happens to be today. The smartphone along with the tablet are shipping today and if you are a pre-orderer then you should be very happy because there’s a software update waiting for you.
Sprint is already releasing software ugprades for both the HTC EVO 3D and the HTC EVO View 4G in order to fix a couple of annoying issues that the devs have uncovered at the very last moment. I bet you’re curious to find out what’s new so scroll down below to see the fixes!
The HTC EVO 3D firmware update 1.13.651.7 comes with a fix for the calendar. Sprint’s testers discovered that the calendar crashed in some formats when users attempted to edit the entries. Upon upgrading everything will be fine and the calendar will not crash any longer. In order to trigger the update, go to Menu -> Settings -> then About Phone -> and Software Info. You will be notified that there’s a new update waiting so let the downloadcommence! Or some of you might have already received an OTA notification and from there you know what to do.
On the other hand, the HTC EVO View 4G firmware update 1.22.651.1 comes packed with even more features and fixes as this is the Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread update. Yeah, you heard that right! You’re getting Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread right away on your 1.5GHz single-core CPU tablet!
The 1.22.651.1 build for the EVO View 4G comes with the latest Google Maps with Navigation version, and no more Mail app crashes. However, Sprint and HTC have decided to remove a feature of the tablet as Gtalk video chat has been disabled and it will be enabled in a future release.
It’s very easy to download the update so hit Home -> Menu -> Settings -> System Updates -> HTC Software Update -> Check Now. When the notification saying that there’s a system update for you pops up, just choose the data connection that you wanna download from.
Let us know if you’re among the lucky possessors of the first 3D smartphone in the US or a EVO View 4G user as of today.
