New Nokia WP7 A No Show As Nokia Launch MeeGo N9

Senior Nokia management have chosen to snub a “Live” local Nokia Phone event for the introduction of a new N9 Smartphone in favour of a junket to Singapore with Australian carriers and retail partners in an effort to win over their support when they launch the new phones in Australia.

Instead of attending the Australian event and taking questions about his declining local market for Nokia phones period, Nokia Australia's managing director, Chris Carr, left the job to what Nokia PR in Australia described as a "lightweight" product manager who was protected from answering anyNokia business questions like "Why is Nokia insisting on launching phones running an operating system like MeeGo which has little chance of success due to a lack of apps".

After the N8 failed to excite consumers Nokia, is now taking a stab at launching the MeeGo N9 claiming the device is the best multitasking Smartphone of any phone in the market today.
The Finnish company who was tipped to launch a Windows Phone 7 device said that theNokia N9 is controlled entirely by touch and swipe gestures and focuses on the things people do most – use apps, socialise and multitask. It also has the latest audio, navigation and camera technology for a great all-round experience.
The new phone has no keypad or home button on the display. The NokiaN9's curved glass screen produces floating icons that allow for fingertip control.
Three home views give access to other applications.

APPLICATIONS:

• Simple swipe gesture to take you seamlessly through the Nokia N9, guiding the user to the most recently opened app. Once you're done with an app, just swipe it away.
• 3.9-inch AMOLED screen made from scratch–resistant curved glass for smooth content interaction. Built using an advanced polycarbonate material, the Nokia N9 offers superior antenna performance over most other competitors' smartphones. Reception and voice quality is also improved with fewer dropped calls.
• 8-megapixel Carl Zeiss autofocus sensor, wide-angle lens, HD-quality video capture and large lens aperture enable great camera performance even in lowlighting conditions, making the Nokia N9 one of the best camera-phones ever produced.
• Watch videos in true 16:9 widescreen format and enjoy surround sound experience with any headphones – the Nokia N9 is the world's first smartphone to come with Dolby Digital Plus decoding and Dolby Headphone.
