"Be The Master of Games" will promote Xperia Play smartphone across 11 cities.
Hot on the heels of Sony Ericsson's gaming centric Xperia Play's recent Indian launch, the video game major has collaborated with Zapak.com to bring what's touted as India's first mobile gaming tournament (though Nokia first did that way back in 2005). Dubbed as Be The Master of Games, the arena spans across the nation with contests covering 11 cities over the duration of a month. The tournament will start off on 24th June across all locations, where gamers will duke it out on the Xperia Play for the title of Best Gamer.
To enter, you need to show up at one of the 44 Zapak Gameplexes located in Delhi/NCR, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Lucknow, Kolkata, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Pune. In addition to gamers, the tournament will also be held concurrently for corporates from 100 different organisations. The corporate gaming championship will be held in Delhi/NCR, Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, and Pune. The tournament will give users a hands-on experience of the recently launched Xperia Play, as well as a chance to win Xperia Play phones while they're at it.
