Apple Releasing Both iPhone 5 And 4S Smartphones At iPod September Event?

It’s not the first time we’ve heard rumors about it, but here it is folks: Apple is going to release an extra smartphone right next to the iPhone 5 at the iPod event in September. The iPhone Nano has been rumored for years and it seems like this is the first time for Apple to enter the mid-range market because Nokia and RIM aren’t doing so well.
According to Chris Whitmore, an analyst for Deutsche Bank, Apple will release two smartphones this fall called iPhone 5 and iPhone 4S. This would be in line with other rumors suggesting that the next-gen iPhone will be called 4S or 5, but now Apple won’t have to pick a name as it will release two different devices.
The iPhone 5 will have a bigger screen than the current generation, while the iPhone 4S will have a smaller screen. The mid-range iPhone (the first of its kind) will be a pre-paid smartphone and it will be marketed by carriersidentical to the iPad. You can agree to a new contract and pay what you use, however, the starting price will be around $350.
Like said, a cheaper and smaller iPhone has been mentioned a couple of times before, but it would have been stupid for Apple to join a market that it doesn’t know when other manufacturers like Nokia, Samsung, and RIM were ruling it.
Sadly the report doesn’t specify whether Apple will halt iPhone 4 production as it would compete directly against the iPhone 4S. The name of the cheaper iPhone suggests that it will be better than the current iPhone 4, but will Apple continue making this device with a built-in 8GB or 16GB memory?
The iPhone 5 will most likely be powered by an Apple A5 dual-core processor, iOS 5, 4-inch touchscreen, NFC, and others.
