Nvidia GTX 570M And GTX 580M Announced Along With Refreshed Alienware M18x And M17x

Nvidia has decided to reveal two new GPUs today with the help of a three  laptops: the Alienware M17X, the M18X, and the MSI GT780R. The two new graphic cards were released to compete against AMD’s Radeon HD 6970M though the decisive factor will always be the price and we don’t know for now how much will Nvidia’s GPUs will cost.
The two graphics cards are the Nvidia GTX 580M which replaces the GTX 485M, and the GTX 570M which replaces the GTX 470M. According to Nvidia, the GTX 580M is the fastest GPU ever developed for a notebook, and the tests have showed that it’s better than its direct rival, the AMD Radeon HD 6970M.
The company also praised the middle-entry GTX 570M which is at least 20% faster than the previous-gen GTX 470M.
Nvidia’s GTX 580M and 570M are based on 40nm technology and they come packed with DirectX 11, CUDA, OpenCL, Optimus, 3D Vision, PhysX, SLI, and 3DTV Play support which represent most of Nvidia’s current technologies for a graphic card to work at its full potential.
Now that Crysis 2 supports DirectX 11 through a special developed patch, you can finally play the game at full throttle. Crysis 2 is the game with the best graphics ever, there’s no denying that and by the looks of it, nor Battlefield 3, nor Modern Warfare 3 (BF3 graphics are slightly better) will dethrone their master. Downloadthe Crysis 2 DirectX 11 patch here.
If you want to get a taste of mobile gaming then you will need to purchase a MSI GT780R to get access to the Nvidia GTX 570M, respectively Clevo P170HM3 and P270WN for the Nvidia GTX 580M.
On the other hand the Alienware M17X and M18X are available for sale as of today and they’re packing the GTX 580M – please note that pricing depends on your desired specs.
