A couple of days ago we’ve told you about Opera 11.50 web browser that comes with a fresh look and new great features, such as speed dial extensions and password synchronization. Today it’s time for the owners of the mobile devices to cheer.
Opera updated their two web browsers for mobile devices: Opera Mini and Opera Mobile, which now reached 6.1 and 11.1 versions, respectively.
One of the newest and most important functions of the new browsers is that the address bar can now be used as a search bar, too, not only to input a website’s URL. Still the classic search bar will stay besides the address bar, for those in love with the traditional Opera mobile browsers. The new search / URL bar will also offer suggestions from Google Search and the history of the user’s browser.
The suggestions and pages from history will appear as soon as you will start typing in the address bar. The new address bar of Opera Mini 6.1 and Opera Mobile 11.1 will also analyze the web browsing habits of the user and will add the .com and .net domain as you type the URL.
With the new Opera Mini and Mobile updates you will be able to make text selections easier, as now it comes with delimitation for letters and words you can move across the screen to create larger selections and copy / paste, looking very much alike the one used by Windows Phone 7 and iOS web browsers.
We should mention that, although they look almost the same, there are a lot of differences between Opera Mini and Opera Mobile. The first one is created for devices with modest specifications, while Opera Mobile was developed for smartphones.
